Anglican Church Men

The organization of Anglican Church Men of Christ The King Parish Church in Ridgeland Park, Nassau, was born in the early 1970s under the able guidance of the late Archdeacon Murillo Bonaby, then Rector of Christ The King Parish Church.

Even in its embryonic stage like most organization in our church today and for that matter anywhere, The Anglican Church Men in Christ The King never got going with the fervour and zest of its sister organization the Anglican Church Women. Even now, some thirty years later, it still trails them in numbers.

We are, however, there and we work shoulder to shoulder with the Rector, Vestry and other sister and brother organizations to keep the work in our part of God's vineyard going on.

Though small in number the Anglican Church Men at Christ The King, give ample support at church functions.

Much effort has been made to recruit more men to actively participate in the work of the organization, but to no avail.

The biggest fund-raiser for The Anglican Church Men has been its annual steak-out. This year we raised enough funds at our steak-out to contribute some Five Thousand Dollars ($5000.00) to the fund for refurbishing the church building.

Along with fund-raising and the support given at church functions, both physical and financial, The Anglican Church Men at Christ The King have turned to their talent as part of their ministry. Seven of them have come together calling themselves 'The Singing Anglican Church Men. They sing at services and other church functions and have also been invited to sing outside their church. This sort of ministry is working quite well and The Anglican Men at Christ The King will pursue it as they continue in their quest to be "Men Going Forth For Christ."
