Venerable Archdeacon I Ranfurly Brown.

Ivan Ranfurly Brown was born in Nassau on May 3, 1954. He attended Queen's College and St. John's College, Nassau. He entered Codrington Theological College, Barbados in 1973 to test his vocation to the Sacred Priesthood.

He graduated from Codrington College and the University of the West Indies with a Diploma in Theological Studies and a Licentiate in Theology. He attended Colgate-Rochester Divinity School, receiving a Diploma in Urban Ministry.

He graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts Degree in Christian Education 1988.

He was ordained Deacon in the Parish Church of St. Agnes on June 24, 1977 and 'Priested in Christ Church Cathedral on June 24, 1978.
He has served as Anglican Chaplain to the Prison, 1978 - 1980.
Social Outreach Chaplain to the New Providence Central Deanery 1977-1980
Diocesan Youth Director 1978-1986
Rector of Our Lady and St. Stephen's Parish, Bimini 1980 - 1988

During his tenure in Bimini he founded the New Life anti-drug programme, and was responsible for many other community programmes. Presently the Rector of Christ The King, N.P. from April 16, 1988 to the present. Presently he serves as Chairman of The Companion Relationship Committee for the Diocese of Nassau and the Bahamas, including the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Diocese Southeast Florida.

He was appointed Canon to the Ordinary and Administrative Assistant to the Bishop of the Diocese of Nassau and the Bahamas, Including the Turks and Caicos on September 8, 1996

He was appointed Archdeacon for the East Central Bahamas, within the Diocese of Nassau and the Bahamas, with responsibility for the East half of New Providence, Eleuthera and Harbour Island, Cat Island and San Salvador, on January 1st. 1998.

He is a 320 Prince Hall Mason A Member of the Grand United Order of Oddfellows A Past Grand Exalted Ruler of the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World. Serving as a Grand Lodge Officer Chairman of the Trustees Board of the Bahamas State Association Esteemed Leading Knight of the Reuben G. Knowles Lodge #1760-Nassau Chairman of the Burial Fund for the Bahamas State Association of Elks. Members of the Trustees Board of the Bahamas Girls's Brigade Chaplain of the Bahamas Boys' Brigade Appointed Justice of the Peace of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas - 1997
